Dede Bandaid / Fix the world

If talent comes naturally, you still got to give credit to the hardest working artist in town. Dede is restless...

Paste-ups, bombs, stickers, stencils, installations, he covered the whole range of possibilities. The ex-coffeine addict is not over yet! He said it started like a rash. it turned into obsession: "fix the world". A strong statement which led dede to cover tel aviv and it's suburbs with around a thousand bandaids (i didn't count but i can't be far from the truth). a kind invitation to fix, if not the world, at least what's around us...

My interpretation is: it's time to wake up and see how we are treating the world we are only borrowing the time of an existence.

I appreciate dede's work and i hope you will too...

Easily tracable around town: look for Bandaids! They have multiple meanings. Depending on where it's put, billboards, lights, walls, animals, plots. Take it as an inspiration or for your own self... "Fix and let fix". You'll easily find the words around town. i think 75% of the streets of tel aviv have at least one 'dede'.

" The mutation series" / "Fragments" and many more...

Ah YES! I forgot to mention. Once in a while, he organizes a challenge around town. He creates events on facebook, leaves us clues and the first people who photograph themselves and post it on facebook win a stencil limited edition numbered and sign by himself... Quite awesome...

More stuff

"About a month of the worst sleep ever, yet, with the best quality time at my drawing wall. This is an experiment about self impression and relationships. Getting a huge stock of coffee, adding water, no sugar- and focusing on the mystery of issues, I got a bit hyper-active and almost ended up with caffeine overdose. the result : 161 handmade posters - a series called CAFFEINE, all pasted in the streets, you can still spot some of them around Tel-Aviv.

I'm an addict, I admit."
